Kognitiv turns 100 – a success story of a great delivery model and passion for Workday®

A success story of a great delivery model and passion for Workday®

This week marks a major milestone for Kognitiv. We have crossed the 100 active employee level five years after inception. All of our growth has been fueled by re-investment of our company profits that were generated through our unique delivery model, which we feel is the fairest way to deliver consulting services. In time we believe all consulting services for SaaS solutions will be delivered the Kognitiv way.

The Beginning of Kognitiv

When it comes to consulting and AMS services, my fellow co-founder Mark and I were always baffled by the structure of ‘typical’ ERP services contracts. These contracts tend to have big dollar figures, very rigid rules, and also a one-size fits all approach to servicing customers. Not to mention multi-year commitment requirements. When it comes to SaaS solutions, especially ones as agile as Workday, you can’t expect to service them with rigid consulting delivery models.

Every sales call we go on prospects ask the following questions:

  1. How many hours do I have to ‘sign up’ for each month?
  2. What happens if I go over my hour allotment for services in a month?
  3. Is there a monthly retainer I have to pay?

Kognitiv’s Unique Model

One of our favorite ways to describe our delivery model is to think of it as ‘Uber for consulting’. When you want an Uber to take you somewhere, you request one via the app and then pay after the ride is done. You don’t have to pay Uber for the privilege of having the app installed on your smartphone and we don’t think you should be paying for the privilege to access great consulting when you need it. Here is how we answered the questions above:

  1. How many hours do I have to ‘sign up’ for each month? Your obligation is 0 hours, use as little or as much of the Kognitiv service as you want!
  2. What happens if I go over my hour allotment for services in a month? Nothing.
  3. Is there a monthly retainer I have to pay? Nope

The team at Kognitiv loves working with the Workday® system. It is the best HR/FIN platform you can buy for an enterprise today and we firmly believe this will continue for some time. We are also driven by a passion to help Workday customers with their system after go-live because that’s when the Workday journey really begins. When you combine passionate, industry leading consultants, along with our delivery model you get organic growth from 0 to 100 employees in 5 years time.

Oh ya, and did we mention we currently support nearly 200 Workday clients with this model?

Here is to the next 100 employees of Kognitiv!
